As the great Jack Merridew from Lord of the Flies once said, “We’ve got to have rules and obey them. After all, we’re not savages.” Therefore, in the interests of applying our knowledge of literature in real life scenarios, we shall have rules… and here they are (they’re mostly straight-forward):
Rules for Comments:
-
No spamming. This includes the posting of useless comments on any page, such as “ZOMG!!! FIRST!!!”. The editors/admins will judge whether or not a comment or post is appropriate, and any spam will be removed without notice.
-
Absolutely no flaming, offensive comments, comments inciting violence, or threats will be tolerated
-
NEVER name someone directly, especially if that person is a student or staff member of Bell. This does not include celebrities, sports stars, historical figures, and other widely known figures. Basically, we are trying to ensure that everyone can remain anonymous, in case something unfortunate should befall someone as a result of something posted on this blog. If you really want to reveal your own identity, there is nothing that we can do to stop you, but we will not be responsible for anything that may result if you do choose to reveal your identity on this blog.
-
Keep offensive language to a minimum… use your best judgement what type of language is appropriate
-
Finally, act in a manner befitting the reputation of Bell High School… again, use your best judgement
Rules for Posts:
-
Every single rule listed in the Rules for Comments section still applies.
-
Keep internet/chat slang to a minimum (or better: don’t use it). For now, this rule applies only for blog entries, not comments.
-
Don’t abuse your privileges (goes for editors, authors, contributors, etc)
-
There is no word limit.
-
Although Bell-related subject matter is encouraged for posts, it is not necessary that entries have to be Bell-related. Posts can also be related to various aspects of a student’s life… such as, but definitely not limited to, new movies, summer jobs, or someone’s favourite TV show… again, use your best judgement, as any post with an inappropriate or completely irrelevant subject matter would be looked into and MAY be deleted.
If you have any questions about the rules above, or if you think another rule should be added, or if maybe you think that a rule is unfair, just post a comment below and we’ll get to you ASAP. This message is brought to you by the Bruins Blog Admin Team. Thanks for reading.
